Is the app going to store my personal information?

The health and activity data collected on your Therabody app stays there, period. At Therabody, we understand your health and activity data is yours and yours alone. We don’t collect, sell, or share any of your data, ever. In fact, feel free to test this by activating Airplane Mode on your phone. You’ll see that the app continues to work independently of any signal, as all of your data is stored locally on your device.

What is percussive therapy?

Theragun Percussive Therapy is massage reinvented™. Dr. Jason created percussive therapy to increase blood flow and decrease tension deep within the muscle, using a scientifically-calibrated combination of speed and depth to treat your muscles comfortably by overriding the pain signals sent to the brain.

Theragun Percussive Therapy works because each device offers a unique combination of these three things:

Amplitude (depth)

What’s the difference between percussive therapy and vibration therapy?

The main difference between percussive therapy and vibration therapy is that percussive therapy reaches deeper into the muscle. While vibration therapy is applied at a constant pressure to the surface of the body, percussive therapy targets treatment areas by massaging deeper into the muscle. Both modalities increase circulation, reduce pain and soreness, improve recovery, and increase flexibility and mobility by reducing muscle tension. The difference being that Theragun Percussive Therapy has been shown to have larger and longer lasting effects compared to vibration therapy. However, it is important to note that vibration therapy can be extremely valuable to treat areas not appropriate for percussive therapy such as very sore and sensitive muscles or to boney areas of the body such as treating a joint directly.

What is the Theragun return policy?

We want you to love your Theragun product as much as we do. If there is any reason you are not satisfied, you have 30 days from purchase to return it with a money-back guarantee.

If you purchased from a retail partner please return the item directly to them.

For orders made on our website:

1. Returns are accepted within the first 30 days from the date of purchase.

2. Once we receive your email, a member of our team will provide you with a Return Authorization Form to complete and send back to us. The form must be included with your return. Please keep in mind, we don’t cover the shipping cost for the returned device. We advise that you hold onto your tracking information as we’re not responsible for lost packages by the carrier.

3. Once we receive the return device to our warehouse, it will take approximately 2 business days to process a refund.

4. Once we issue a refund, it can take 5-7 business days for it to reflect in your original method of payment.

Which 4th generation devices have a responsive force meter and what does it do?

The Theragun PRO and Elite both feature a responsive force meter, viewable on the OLED screen located at the top of the device. This force meter monitors the applied pressure on the body resulting from pressure exerted by the user.

Also viewable in the Therabody App during treatment, the force meter allows you to tailor your treatment pressure and intensity depending on the desired result. Each protocol within the app includes force recommendations depending on need and area of the body.

Please note that while the Theragun Prime does not feature an OLED screen for responsive force meter display on the device itself, it is viewable in the Therabody app during treatment.

  • Before using or charging the Theragun or lithium-ion batteries, read all of the instructions and cautionary markings in this manual, on the charger, on the battery, and on the Theragun device. Please note: new batteries must be charged before first use.
  • Do not place your finger or any objects near the metal piston above the attachment while the Theragun is in use or immediately after use. The metal piston can become extremely hot.
  • Do not use any attachments or batteries other than the ones provided by Therabody and use only as instructed by Therabody.
  • Do not use the Theragun on your head, neck, or near your genitalia.
  • Do not get hair caught in the attachment arm or in any other moving part on the Theragun.
  • This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any diseases.
  • Do not use on any open wounds or surgical incisions prior to stitches.
  • Do not get the Theragun wet other than by cleaning it with a magic eraser or a lightly damp towel.
  • Do not block the vents of the motor.
  • Do not reverse the polarity of the battery by inserting it upside down - only insert with the flat side facing the sliding button.
  • To extend the life of the battery, remove the battery from the charger once the light stops flashing.

If your Theragun PRO’s battery has died, the Theragun PRO Wireless Charging Stand will fully charge the battery within 125 minutes.

How often should I replace my attachments?

We recommend changing your device attachments every 60-90 days, depending on the amount of times they are used during treatments.

All attachments are covered by a 30 day limited warranty.

Why are there different attachments, and what do they do?

Each of our attachments is designed to treat specific areas of your body comfortably. Every attachment has a unique firmness and shape to ensure the right treatment in the right area. Our attachments are made with closed-cell foam (excluding the Supersoft) to easily glide over skin without absorbing lotions, sweat, or oils. The attachments are easy to swap out so that you can get the custom treatment you need when you need it.

Dampener- Used mostly for tender or bony areas. Perfect for overall use.

Large Ball- Used mostly for treatment of large muscle groups. Commonly used on glutes, hamstrings, and quads.

Standard Ball- Perfect for overall use on large and small muscle groups, with a firmer touch than the Dampener.

Cone- Used mostly for pinpoint muscle treatment and commonly used on smaller muscle groups, including the hands and feet.

Thumb- Used mostly for trigger points and the lower back.

Wedge- Perfect for shoulder blades and IT bands and commonly used for “scraping” and “flushing,” which help to decrease the amount of lactic acid in muscles.

Supersoft™ - An ultra-gentle option for especially sensitive or sore areas, and areas near bones or joints. Includes 1 durable base and 3 hygienic, soft foam replaceable attachments.

What is the Duo Adapter and why is it so unique?

The Duo Adapter Set allows you to use any recommended set of two Theragun attachments at once to treat more of the body with Theragun percussive therapy in half the time. With an innovative design that optimally positions both closed-cell foam attachments to contour to the different shapes and curves of the body, the Duo creates unique ways to treat specific areas, ailments, and more.

How long does it take to fully charge my 4th generation Theragun using its Charging Stand?

If your Theragun PRO’s battery has died, the Theragun PRO Wireless Charging Stand will fully charge the battery within 125 minutes.

If your Theragun Elite’s battery has died, the Theragun Elite Wireless Charging Stand will fully charge the battery within 110 minutes.

If your Theragun Prime’s battery has died, the Theragun Prime Charging Stand will fully charge the battery within 80 minutes.

  1. Toggle the MasterSwitch to the left to turn OFF TheraCup. Ensure that the battery status LED is OFF.
  2. Use disinfectant wipes for sanitizing the cups and heating element.

Clean TheraCup with a lightly dampened cloth or an alcohol-based solution if it comes in contact with anything that may cause stains or other damage, like: dirt or sand, makeup, ink, soap, detergent, acids or acidic foods, or with liquids other than fresh water, including those that may lead to skin irritation such as: sweat, salt water, soapy water, pool water, perfume, insect repellent, lotions, sunscreen, oil, adhesive remover, hair dye, or solvents.
  4. Dry TheraCup with a non-abrasive, lint-free cloth.
  5. TheraCup comes with replaceable filters to prevent foreign substances from damaging the device. To replace the filter, remove the small rubber cap located at the top of the heated pad. Replace the filter once every six months.

How do I clean my RecoveryPulse sleeve?

We recommend hand-washing the RecoveryPulse sleeve, but it can also be machine washable as follows:

  • Remove the battery before washing.
  • Place the RecoveryPulse sleeve in the provided laundry bag and machine wash on delicate, with cold water.
  • After washing, lay flat to dry. Do NOT machine dry.
  • Make sure the RecoveryPulse sleeve is completely dry before re-inserting the battery.
When should I use RecoveryPulse?

How do I use TheraCup?

Using the cupping technology

  1. Select the cup size (small, medium, large) best suited for the area you want to use TheraCup™. See below for more information on how to select the appropriate cup size. Ensure contact between the cup and the black ring on the device for sealing.
  2. Once comfortable, turn ON TheraCup™ by dragging the MasterSwitch slider to the right. The battery status LED shows that the device is ON.
  3. Short press the suction (middle) button to begin cupping. Short press the suction button to toggle through the pressure settings (low, medium, high).
  4. Place the cup on your forearm to adjust settings accordingly before use, or place directly on the intended area, such as your back, arms, and legs and begin use. Once placed, push the cup into the skin for strong suction.
  5. Short press the vibration button to turn ON vibration. Short press the vibration button to toggle through the speed settings. A long press turns off the treatment.
  6. Short press the heat button to turn ON the heat treatment. A short press toggles through the three temperatures, and a long press stops the treatment.
  7. After three minutes, you will hear a short beep, indicating that TheraCup™ treatment is complete. To turn OFF TheraCup™, drag the MasterSwitch slider to the left. The device will maintain suction until safely removed.

- Small: (35mm) recommended for smaller muscles, e.g., levator scapulae (back of the neck), traps, knees, calves.

What is the difference between vibration and percussion?

Vibration has less amplitude (depth) than percussive, as in the attachment doesn't physically push down the tissue as much. Therefore, it is better suited for joints and sore areas to improve circulation and reduce pain. Think of it as a low-intensity treatment for areas that you cannot treat directly with Theragun percussive therapy.

How do you attach and remove the attachments from the device?

Make sure the device is powered off before attaching or detaching any attachments. Align the attachment with the tip of the arm and push to connect. To remove the attachment, hold the triangle grip with one hand and the attachment with the other. Place one finger on each side of the plastic connector and firmly pull the attachment off. Warning: Do not position your finger between the attachment and the end of the arm, as this may result in pinching or injury.

How does the biometric sensor work?

Our biometric sensor reads your heart rate through your index finger. To quickly obtain a heart rate scan, double-tap the biometric sensor with your index finger. Ensure your finger completely covers the sensor and maintain stillness until your heart rate reading appears on the screen.

Is TheraFace Mask safe and reviewed by the FDA?

The TheraFace Mask is FDA cleared, which means the FDA has reviewed the technical specificiations and design of the product and it meets their standards for both efficacy and safety. The TheraFace Mask was throughly tested by our internal R+D team as well as part of a clinical study which showed that daily use over 12 weeks is safe.

How do I clean my Theragun Relief?

The Theragun Relief is NOT waterproof or machine washable. Do not allow any liquid or water to enter the device or charging port. First, ensure that the device is powered off. To clean, wipe the device's surface with a disinfectant wipe to remove any residue. Once the device is residue-free, use a clean disinfectant wipe to thoroughly clean both the device's surface and attachments, wiping in a circular motion.

How can I track my order?

Once your order has been placed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the tracking information. Should you come across any issues with tracking your package, please feel free to reach out to us by phone or chat, and we’ll work to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

My order never arrived, what do I do?

  1. First, verify your shipping address, to do this, locate your tracking number in your shipping confirmation email or log into your account and check your order history. How do I use RecoveryTherm Hot & Cold Vibration Knee, and for how long?

Putting on your device

  1. Use the garment in a cool, dry location (below 78 degrees Fahrenheit/26 degrees Celsius).
  2. Find a comfortable position sitting down, with your legs either at a 90-degree angle or fully extended.
  3. Extend the garment and unbuckle the straps.
  4. To put the RecoveryTherm™ Hot & Cold Vibration Knee on, place the garment’s center open circle on your knee cap. The blue fans should be facing outwards, and the control panel should be resting on your thigh. Ensure that nothing is blocking the airflow to the blue fans.
  5. Secure the RecoveryTherm™ Hot & Cold Vibration Knee by buckling each strap. The straps should provide compression without being uncomfortable or painful. If standing up, readjust the top strap for increased compression.



Using your garment

  1. Insert the battery into the control panel. There is only one correct battery insertion position in the battery dock. Do not force the battery into place. The Therabody logo should be facing upright when inserted.
  2. Press and hold the power button for two seconds.
  3. Select one of three treatment options (cold, hot, or contrast) using the respective mode buttons.
  4. RecoveryTherm™ Hot & Cold Vibration Knee will begin a preset protocol if contrast therapy is selected. There are six LEDs, each corresponding with a treatment step. For example, blue indicates cold therapy, and orange indicates hot therapy. As each of the six treatment types are complete, their respective lights will turn off.
  5. Add vibration therapy to any treatment by pressing the vibration button. Toggle between the three vibration modes (low intensity, high intensity, and wave) by short-pressing the vibration button.
  6. The treatment is approximately 15-20 minutes long, depending on the selected mode.
What is the ideal pressure or force to apply when using Theragun Sense?

You can apply as much or as little force as you want when using Theragun Sense. Think of it like getting a massage – you can use the amount of force for your personal preference. You do not need to apply lots of force to get the benefits of using your Theragun Sense.

How do you change the speed levels?

What is the difference between vibration therapy and percussive therapy?

Vibration therapy is using a device on the body that oscillates against the skin and muscles. There are many therapeutic benefits to vibration, including increased bloodflow and decreased pain and tension. Percussive therapy is the rapid application of compression to the body, where the percussive therapy devices comes off of the body and then compresses it intermittently. This results in the combination of both compression and vibration. The benefits of percussive therapy are similar to vibration, but can also provide additional and longer-lasting benefits.

Is RecoveryTherm Cube a medical device?

How do I know the time remaining on the treatment?

Each preset has a recommended time and the device will power off automatically once completed.
Recommended times: 24 minutes for heat, 24 minutes for cold and 20 minutes for contrast. Changing temperatures does not reset the timer, but changing presets does.

Are there any specific precautions for using the Theragun Sense on bony areas?

You should avoid direct treatment of bony areas and instead treat around these on the muscles. Furthermore, as with all our devices there are certain conditions that are treated as either a precaution or contraindication. How do I charge RecoveryTherm Hot Vibration Back and Core?

To charge the RecoveryTherm™️ Hot Vibration Back & Core, remove the battery from the control panel and charge using the provided cable. The RecoveryTherm™️ Hot Vibration Back & Core includes a Therabody USB-C to USB-A cable. The RecoveryTherm™️ Hot Vibration Back & Core is USB-C enabled. The battery level is displayed in the LED indicator on the battery pack, next to the USB-C connector:

Orange: low charge, blue: mid charge, green: fully charged.

When charging, the LED will flash to indicate it is properly connected and will turn solid green when complete. Note: Ensure the charger is from a certified manufacturer and has not suffered any structural damage. Do not try to use the garment while charging.

Can SmartGoggles and other Therabody products be used together?

Can you use cold with percussive thereapy?

How does the guided breathwork feature work?

The Theragun PRO Plus offers guided breathwork with vibration cues, known as haptics, to assist you in your breathing practice. Position your finger on the heart rate sensor, hold the device with both hands near your chest, and find a comfortable posture. Allow the haptic vibrations to guide you through a 2-minute breathing exercise: the vibration increases during inhalation and decreases during exhalation. Upon completing the routine, your minimum heart rate will be displayed on the screen. For an immersive breathwork experience, we also recommend pairing TheraMind sound therapy and relaxing visualizations available in the Therabody app.

Which devices connect to the Therabody app and what does it do?

Getting Started
Securely rest the device on the intended treatment area, and long press either the cold or hot button to power the device on and begin treatment. If placing the device on the intended treatment area makes the cold and hot buttons out of reach, power on and choose your treatment first.

Cold Therapy
Long press the cold (snowflake) button to begin cold treatment. The cold button will illuminate as blue as the cold treatment begins. Short press the cold button at any point during treatment to toggle through temperature options: 1 LED light: 16 ℃ (61 ℉) (default), 2 LED lights: 12 ℃ (54 ℉), 3 LED lights: 8 ℃ (46 ℉). The treatment will run for 18 minutes.

Heat Therapy
Long press the hot (heat wave) button to begin hot treatment. The hot button will illuminate as orange as the hot treatment begins. Short press the hot button at any point during treatment to toggle through temperature options: 1 LED light: 35 ℃ (95 ℉) (default), 2 LED lights: 39 ℃ (102 ℉), 3 LED lights: 43 ℃ (109 ℉). The treatment will run for 24 minutes.

Contrast Therapy
For contrast mode, simultaneously long press both the cold and hot buttons. Both the cold and hot buttons will illuminate as the contrast treatment begins. The treatment will run for 20 minutes, spending five minutes in cold treatment and five minutes in hot treatment, and repeating once. Short press the cold or hot button at any point during their respective treatment to toggle through temperature options (Cold: 3 LED lights: 8 ℃ (46 ℉) (default), 1 LED light: 16 ℃ (61 ℉), 2 LED lights: 12 ℃ (54 ℉); Hot: 3 LED lights: 43 ℃ (109 ℉) (default), 1 LED light: 35 ℃ (95 ℉), 2 LED lights: 39 ℃ (102 ℉).Treatment times do not reset when the treatment temperature is changed. Treatment times do reset when switching between hot and cold treatment. The device will power off once the treatment is complete. Long press the cold or hot button to turn off the device.

RecoveryTherm Cube can be used as a handheld device or securely fastened to the treatment area using the Cube Strap Frame and straps provided. Use the device directly on the skin to maximize benefits or through light clothing if desired. To use as a handheld device, place the device on the intended treatment area with the Therabody logo facing out. Grip the device using the recommended flat grip area on each side. Do not cover air vents or lay on top of the device. Use the device by either holding it still on the treatment area or gently massaging.

What is the recommended treatment schedule for TheraFace Mask?

For maximum benefits, we recommend using the preset treatment 1x/day and up to 7 days per week.

How do I know what size I should get?

We designed five different sizes for the RecoveryPulse Arm and six sizes for the RecoveryPulse Calf. To determine your best size for RecoveryPulse Arm, measure the widest point of the bicep with the muscle relaxed. For RecoveryPulse Calf, measure the widest point of the calf, with the muscle relaxed. Then, reference the below size guide to find your best fit.

 

If you fall in-between sizes and have used compression garments in the past, we recommend sizing down. If you are brand new to compression, we recommend sizing up. LIke most compression garments, these run small to allow a snug fit. You can also try RecoveryPulse on in-store at Therabody retailers and Reset locations.

How do I charge my TheraCup?

TheraCup is USB-C enabled includes a USB-C to USB-A cable. You can plug the device into any standard USB adapter. The USB port is located opposite of the Master Switch. The battery level is indicated in the LED indicator of the battery:

  • Orange: low charge, blue: mid charge, green: fully charged


When charging, the LED will flash to indicate it is properly connected and will turn solid green when complete. You can always check the battery level by inserting the battery level by dragging the switch to the right while the device is on. The battery LED switches off while the device is turned off. Note: If using a charger from a third party, ensure that it is from a certified manufacturer and has not suffered any structural damage. Do not try to use the device while charging.

Are there any recommended techniques or motions when using the Theragun Sense?

You should move the Theragun Sense slowly and deliberately over the area of the body you are treating. You should hold the device so that the attachment gently massages the body straight on.

Can I cancel my order after I’ve created it?

If you wish to cancel your order let us know no later than 15 minutes after the time you submit your order by chatting with us or by sending us an email at info@theragun.com. Cancellation requests received after 15 minutes are subject to our ability to reroute your order with our carrier. Are the device and attachments compatible with other models?

No. The Theragun PRO Plus device and attachments are not compatible with other Theragun devices and/or previous generation attachments.

How do I charge the battery?

The device uses a USB-C charging port located in the reverse grip handle.

To charge the Theragun PRO Plus, plug one end of the USB-C charging cable into the USB-C port and the other into your USB-A or USB-C adapter of choice.
The device will display in the screen the battery level while connected until fully charged. The screen will shown a battery icon in green when charging is complete.

The battery life of the device depends on the use of the different attachments. The general battery life is about 150 minutes, but this can decrease based on the attachments used.

What is RecoveryTherm Cube's contrast therapy?

Contrast therapy is when you alternate between heat and cold treatments and it is most beneficial when you alternate several times in one treatment like the RecoveryTherm Cube preset. It is great at helping maximize recovery of an area that might be fatigued or sore from activity.

Are there any side effects from using SmartGoggles or SmartSense Technology™?

For people with generally good facial health, there should be no side effects. However, please review the precautions and contraindications listed on our website before use. If you have a particular condition or issue for which you already seek professional help, be sure to consult with your healthcare provider before using SmartGoggles.

Immediately stop using the device at the first sign of discomfort or pain.

How should I clean and maintain my Theragun PRO Plus for optimal performance?

The Theragun PRO Plus device is NOT waterproof or machine washable. Do not allow any liquid or water to enter the device or charging port. Ensure that the device is powered off before cleaning. To clean, wipe the device surface with a disinfectant wipe to remove any residue. Ensure that the biometric sensor is clean for optimal scanning precision. Once the device is residue-free, use a clean disinfectant wipe to thoroughly clean the device surface and attachments, wiping in a circular motion.

Apply one drop of the Quiet Force Solution (included in the package) to the shaft of the device if the noise of the device has increased with use. First, ensure the device is turned off and remove the attachment. Tilt the device back such that the shaft is facing up and pull from the end until the shaft is fully extended. Apply one drop of the Quiet Force solution at the base of the shaft. Push and pull the shaft about 3 times to allow the solution to extend on the surface. Add the attachmnet and use the device as usual.

My payment didn’t go through with Sika. Why is that?

There are a few potential reasons why this may happen. It’s possible your HSA/FSA card has not yet been activated, or that you are attempting to purchase ineligible products with an HSA/FSA card. If you believe it is something other than that, please reach out to support@sikahealth.com.

Which preset program should I start with?

How do I clean the TheraFace Mask?
  1. Wipe the device clean with a disposable cloth after each use.
  2. Before cleaning, power the device OFF by long pressing the LED light button (G) or vibration button (H). Ensure that your device is not connected to a charging cable or power source before cleaning.
  3. Visually inspect the device for any obvious signs of debris build-up.
  4. Wipe off any visible dirt with a disposable cloth moistened with a mild detergent. Be sure to wipe the interior surfaces of the mask. Next, use a soft cloth with 70% isopropyl alcohol to wipe and disinfect the mask for three (3) minutes, especially the inner surface of the mask. Repeat this process three times. Finally, wipe the disinfectant with a clean, dry cloth or towel until there is no visible residue. Do not submerge the device in water or apply excessive cleaning solution or disinfectant when cleaning.
  5. If you use the TheraFace Mask eyeshield during your treatment, wipe clean.
  6. After cleaning, allow the device to dry thoroughly before storing or beginning another treatment. A properly cleaned device should have no visible signs of debris or moisture.

How do I charge the battery?

The device uses a USB-C charging port located in the reverse grip handle. How do I charge RecoveryTherm Hot & Cold Vibration Knee?

To charge the RecoveryTherm™ Hot & Cold Vibration Knee, remove the battery from the control panel and connect it to the included USB-C adapter.

How do I turn on my SmartGoggles device?

Place the device on clean, dry skin. Remove makeup, eyeglasses, and contact lenses prior to SmartGoggles use. Place SmartGoggles on your head. The Therabody SmartGoggles should perfectly align with your temples and sit comfortably on your nose bridge. The heart rate sensor should maintain contact with your cheekbone. Keep your eyes closed during the treatment. Avoid frequent movement during treatment as it may impact heart rate tracking.

  • Long Press the Power Button to switch ON SmartGoggles. Adjust the strap to fit comfortably on your head.
  • Short Press the Power Button to toggle through the different modes, SmartRelax, Focus, and Sleep.

How should I use the vibration attachment?

The vibration attachment is ideal for soothing sore, achy joints. It is best used in combination with near-infrared LED therapy when treating joints to enhance the treatment's effectiveness. Additionally, it can also be applied to sore muscles and other painful areas. Due to its lower impact compared to traditional percussive therapy, it offers a gentler treatment option.

How do I charge the battery?

Which devices have a responsive force meter and what does it do?

The latest Theragun PRO, and previous generation PRO and Elite models have a viewable force meter on the OLED screen located at the top of the device. This force meter monitors the applied pressure on the body resulting from pressure exerted by the user.

Also viewable in the Therabody App during treatment, the force meter allows you to tailor your treatment pressure and intensity depending on the desired result. Each protocol within the app includes force recommendations depending on need and area of the body.

Please note that while Theragun Prime and all generations of Theragun mini do not feature an OLED screen for responsive force meter display on the device itself, it is viewable in the Therabody app during treatment.

Can you use the device while charging it?

No. Do not try to use the device while charging.

Can I use the heat attachment over clothing?

The heat attachment is most effective when applied directly to the skin but can also be used over a thin layer of clothing. While you may still experience the benefits of percussive therapy through thicker clothing, the heat may not penetrate the skin or muscles as effectively as it would when applied directly to the skin.

When should I use heat, cold or contrast therapy?

RecoveryTherm Cube therapies are helpful for:

COLD: Decreasing pain and inflammation.

How often can I use Theragun Sense for muscle recovery and pain relief?

How do I charge my SmartGoggles?

SmartGoggles are USB-C enabled and include a Therabody USB-C to USB-A cable. The USB port is located on the side of the device, behind the Power Button. Ensure that the battery status LED light is OFF before charging. Insert the USB-C cable into the port to charge SmartGoggles. The battery level is displayed in the LED indicator on the battery, next to the USB-C connector:

Contrast: 20 minutes (The temperatures are customizable, but the preset alternates between the warmest and coldest settings to optimize treatment: Cold: 46°F, Heat: 109°F)

Should I warm up before using Theragun Sense, or can I use it at any time?

You can use your Theragun Sense at any time. It is a great tool to use as part of a warm-up, recovery from activity, or throughout the day to suit your needs to relieve pain and reduce tension.

What combination of attachments should I use to warm up before activity?

Generally, you want to raise your heart rate and body temperature slightly during a warm up. Making sure to focus the treatment on the muscle groups you will use in your training, use either the heat + percussive attachment with LED or the regular percussive attachment with LED for 15-60 seconds per area to warm the body up prior to activity.

What is the maximum amount of time I should use my SmartGoggles per day/treatment?

15-30 minutes is a great session length, but you can use your SmartGoggles multiple times throughout the day based on your specific needs. The goal is to have consistency from day to day — 5 minutes a day, 5 days per week can be just as powerful as longer sessions.

I made a Therabody purchase on a different website or retail store. Can I still receive MileagePlus miles on this purchase?

How do I use RecoveryTherm Hot Vibration Back and Core, and for how long?

Putting on your device

  1. Find a comfortable position sitting down or standing upright.
  2. To put the RecoveryTherm™️ Hot Vibration Back & Core on, wrap the garment around your lower back. Position the wrap so that the control module is on the right side of your body, facing outwards.
  3. Hold the strap’s left and right sides in either hand, adjust to ensure they are approximately the same distance.
  4. Place the left side strap on your belly button, and place the right strap on top. Secure in place with the Velcro strap. The garment should feel snug but not too tight. The control module should rest between the center of your body and your right hip.


Using your garment

  1. Insert the battery into the control panel. There is only one correct battery insertion position in the battery dock. Do not force the battery into place. The Therabody logo should be facing outwards when inserted.
  2. Press and hold the power button for two seconds.
  3. RecoveryTherm™️ Hot Vibration Back & Core delivers heat on the front and back of your core for a customizable 360-degree heat therapy treatment. Short press the heat buttons to toggle between the three heat settings on both the front and back.
  4. Add vibration therapy to your back treatment by pressing the vibration button. Toggle between the three vibration modes (low intensity, high intensity, and wave) by short-pressing the vibration button.
  5. The treatment will last about 20 minutes. Turn the garment back on if you’d like to repeat the treatment.
Where can I wear this? Can I wear this over my clothing? Under?

Because the temperatures are scientifically-calibrated and safe for the body, we recommend applying RecoveryTherm Cube directly to the skin or over a very thin layer of clothing.

What is Theragun PRO Plus, and how does it differ from other Theragun models?

Does the device connect to the Therabody App?

We strive to make the Theragun as safe as possible. This is an advanced mechanical tool with electric components. If the Theragun and its accessories are not used or maintained properly, there is a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury. When using the Theragun, these basic precautions should always be followed including:

USE ONLY AS INSTRUCTED. Use the device as described in the Instruction Manual. Use only Theragun recommended accessories and replacement parts. Do not carry out any maintenance other than as advised by Theragun.

NOT FOR CHILDREN. Theragun devices and chargers are not intended for use by young children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or reasoning capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction by a responsible person. Do not allow any Theragun device to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with Theragun devices or chargers.

DO NOT PULL OUT THE BATTERY WHILE THE THEARAGUN DEVICE IS ON.

REDUCING RISK OF INJURY. Charge each Theragun device with the designated Theragun charger. Other chargers may cause personal injury or damage. Do not connect the Theragun device to a power supply plug or car cigarette lighter. The internal battery will be permanently disabled or damaged.

USE THE THERAGUN DEVICE ONLY WITH THERAGUN BATTERIES. Use of other batteries may result in a risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury.

CHARGING LOCATIONS. The Theragun should be charged indoors in a well ventilated, dry location. Do not charge the Theragun outdoors, in a bathroom or within 10 feet (3.1 meters) of a bathtub, or pool. Do not use the Theragun or charger on wet surfaces and do not expose the charger to moisture, rain, or snow. Do not use the Theragun or charger in the presence of explosive atmospheres (gaseous fumes, dust, or flammable materials). Sparks may be generated, possibly causing a fire.

UNPLUGGING THE CHARGER. Pull the plug, not the cord, to reduce the risk of damage to the electrical plug and cord. Never carry the charger by its cord. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, and sharp edges. Do not use or charge with a damaged cord. Do not stretch the charger cord or place the cord under strain. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Do not handle the charger, including the charger terminals or Theragun with wet hands.

CHARGER CARE. Unplug the charger when not in use. Unplug the charger from the outlet when not in use for extended periods. Make sure the charger cord is located so that it will not be stepped on, tripped over, or otherwise subjected to damage or stress. Have a damaged charger replaced immediately.

DO NOT OVERCHARGE. Do not leave the battery in the charger for more than an hour after the battery has been fully charged. The battery includes a protection system to avoid the risk of overcharging. However, overcharging may reduce its life over time.

DO NOT BLOCK MOTOR VENTS. Do not put any obstructions into vents. Do not use it if any vent is blocked. Keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce airflow. Keep hair, loose clothing, and fingers from vents and moving parts.

DO NOT SHORT CIRCUIT. A battery will short circuit if a metal object makes a connection between the positive and negative contacts on the battery or the 12V connector. A short-circuited battery may cause fire and personal injury.

DO NOT OPERATE UNDER BLANKET AND PILLOW. Excessive heating can occur and cause fire, electric shock, or injury.

STORING THERAGUN DEVICES AND CHARGER. Store in a cool, dry place. Only charge the device when the ambient temperature is between 0°C/32°F and 40°C/104°F. Do not store the device where temperatures may exceed 40°C/104°F such as in direct sunlight, in a vehicle, or metal building during the summer.

DISPOSING OF BATTERIES. The Theragun lithium-ion batteries are more environmentally friendly than some other types of batteries. Always dispose of the batteries according to federal, state, and local regulations. Contact a recycling agency in your area for recycling locations. Even discharged batteries contain some energy. Before disposing of, use electrical tape to cover the 12V connector to prevent the battery from shorting, which could cause a fire or explosion.

DO NOT DISASSEMBLE. Disassembly or incorrect reassembly may result in the risk of electric shock, fire, or exposure to battery chemicals. The warranty will be void if the device, or charger are disassembled or if any parts have been removed.

SERVICE. If the Theragun battery or charger is not working properly, has received a sharp blow, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, do not use and contact Therabody by emailing info@therabody.com for repair or service. Do not attempt to repair or disassemble any Theragun device which may result in an electric shock or fire.

DO NOT USE WHILE BATHING OR IN TUB OR SINK. Do not place the Theragun or charger where it can fall into a tub or sink. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid. Do not reach for an appliance that has fallen into water. Unplug immediately.

THERMAL LIMITER. The Theragun has an automatic reset thermal limiter that shuts off the Theragun to prevent overheating and fire.

What is PowerDot?

PowerDot's neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) send electronic pulses to your motor nerves to create muscle contraction and stimulate sensory nerves to temporarily relieve pain.

PowerDot takes the guesswork out of NMES and TENS, a recovery modality usually reserved for athletes and training rooms. The accuracy of pad placement, intensity level, and session time of any muscle stimulation is critically important for safety and efficacy. What is electrical stimulation?

Electrical stimulation sends electrical signals through a device, stimulating sensory and/or motor nerves. There are two types of electrical stimulation: transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES).

NMES: NMES uses an electrical current to stimulate the motor nerves, which results in muscle contraction. This stimulus is designed to mimic the same type of signal the brain sends to the muscle when you move.

TENS: TENS uses an electrical current to stimulate the sensory nerves for therapeutic purposes. This stimulation suppresses the pain signals that are being sent to the brain to provide temporary pain relief.

Electricity is the natural way the cells in our body communicate, execute specific functions, and provide life. TENS uses the same method your body already uses to prevent the sensory nerves from telling the brain you are experiencing pain.

What is the difference between the PowerDot 2.0 Uno and Duo?

The Uno is a single PowerDot that allows you to stimulate one side of the body at a time.

The Duo is a pair of PowerDots allowing the user to stimulate both sides of the body or multiple muscle groups at once. With double the pads, Duo cuts your usage time in half while extending their life span. You'll cut down on the number of applications/re-applications to treat any one area.

Either option allows access to all of the pad placements, programs and modalities with the exception of “Long Haul Flight” (only available for Duo use).

How high should I turn up the intensity of my PowerDot product?

Everyone's physiology is different and reactions to muscle stimulation will vary. While our app ensures the safest, most accurate intensity level, pad placements, and session time for your needs, adjusting the intensity level until you see a visual twitch in the muscle being treated is a general rule of thumb. As the smartest muscle stimulator in recovery, PowerDot intelligently takes fatigue level, recent activity, and other unique needs into account when recommending intensity level.

Can I use my Uno as a Duo by buying more pads?

If you currently own an Uno and wish to use as a Duo, all you need is to purchase a second Uno and pair it to your app.

How long do the PowerDot pads last?

PowerDot pad adhesive lasts for about 20 applications, but actual life span may vary. We suggest using an alcohol wipe or saline wipe to clean the skin prior to use. Apply the pads on clean, dry skin, being sure to wipe off any sweat or natural skin oils.

Always store in a cool place.

How do I set up device sharing through my device?

The PowerDot app offers “Device Sharing” for Apple users (not offered for Android) with up to 4 other Apple users. Follow these steps to access this:

  1. Prior to setting up “device Sharing” we recommend having team member(s) create their profiles via the app on their Apple device and allow for app notifications to accept the “device Sharing” invite
  2. Pair your PowerDots to your app on your Apple device
  3. Tap on “My Device” second to last icon on the bottom right
  4. Tap on “Set Up Device Sharing”
  5. Turn on by tapping on slider
  6. “Add Team Member(s)” by entering/adding the email associated with their PowerDot profile
  7. The team member would then receive an “in-app” notification to accept the PowerDot
  8. “Device Sharing” is now complete
  9. Just make sure that other team members have their Bluetooth turned off if they are nearby
How often should I use it? Could I use my PowerDot more than once a day?

In short, yes! We recommend utilizing the Performance programs no more than 1-2 times daily, per muscle group. The Recovery, Wellness, Everyday and TENS programs, can be utilized multiple times daily or as often as needed.

How long does it take to charge my PowerDots?

Charging your PowerDots to full should not take more than 90 minutes. You can charge PowerDots from any micro-USB connection or standard USB-compatible AC charger.

Am I able to make calls or use other apps on my phone while using my PowerDots?

Yes! The PowerDot app and firmware is specifically designed to work independently in such a way that other apps running on your phone, calls or services won’t interfere with active stimulation programs from the PowerDot app.

PowerDot’s firmware is smart enough to independently complete and stop your stimulation session even if the Bluetooth connection is lost between PowerDot and your phone/tablet.

Why do I sometimes only feel stimulation under the rectangular pads?

PowerDot applies electrical impulses to contract or twitch your muscles. The electrical impulse always flows between two points, with one point (or channel) beginning at the rectangular pad and one round pad and the second point/channel between the rectangular pad and the second round pad.

Therefore, if you disconnect the round pads, you won't be able to feel any muscle stimulation at all.

The following factors could be attributed to the difference in your feelings:

  • Positioning of the pads - If the rectangular pad is located closer to the nerve or muscle motor point, the brain could be prioritizing the stimulation feedback signal between the pads. Feel free to experiment with pad position of round pads on the muscle in order to see if you can find a position closer to the muscle belly (where motor points are usually located).   
  • Muscle fatigue - If the muscle fibers under your round pads are significantly tired compared to the muscles under rectangular pad, a higher intensity will be required in order to notice the difference.

In general, if you can see a contraction or twitches under any of the pads, there is absolutely no reason to worry, as your muscles always contract along its full length, between the rectangular pad and each of the round pads.

Could I use my PowerDots while on a plane?

Yes! Once on your flight and in Airplane mode, simply turn Bluetooth back on and you will be able to use all of the PowerDot programs in flight.

Why does one PowerDot feel stronger than the other during use?

There is a possibility of having a minor muscle imbalance. Let’s say you work out 4-5 times a week and use your PowerDots daily for recovery and training. No matter which program is selected, the right side (dominant side) will always fire at a lower intensity with recovery programs because of overcompensation during training. On the other hand, when using the training programs, the left side (non-dominant side) will fire at a lower intensity because it is not put under as much stress as the right side. Now if you swapped the device from left to right you would have to adjust the intensity; this is the easiest way to tell if it is an imbalance.

The following factors may also account for the difference in stimulus during use:

  • Level of battery charge. Make sure the battery charge level is similar on both devices or get a full charge on both devices.
  • Pads setup: make sure that pads setup on one side is mirroring the other side. Both setups should follow the recommended positioning in the app.
  • Some people have difference in sensation and muscle recruitment between left and right sides of the body. In case you still feel the difference, please adjust the intensity for each device separately using the Powerdot mobile app “Device Lock” feature, available from the Stimulation Dashboard in the bottom menu.
  • The linked devices feature allows you to control each PowerDot independently when turned off. You could then turn off link channels and control each cable independently. This is very useful when you are dealing with imbalance/dominance.

Could I use my PowerDots while being active or training?

We recommend sitting or lying down during your PowerDot stimulation sessions with the main objective of developing strong isometric resistance for the heavy muscle contractions, generated by PowerDot.

However, depending on the muscles you’re stimulating and your stimulation program selection, you can also perform other activities (e.g. use your laptop or PC, read a book or watch TV) that will create little or no impact during you PowerDot stimulation.

The PowerDot app provides advice on the recommended stimulation positions for different stimulation programs and muscle groups.

Once your tolerance towards muscle stim increases, you can also try applying various dynamic exercises during use of the Performance program (such as performing air squats during strength/explosive strength contractions over your quads or hamstrings).

NEVER use PowerDot while driving, operating machinery, doing heavy physical training or any other action where involuntary muscle contraction can cause an accident or injury.

How do I reset and pair my PowerDot to a new phone/device?

Pair to a new Apple phone/device

Perform a full factory reset before attempting to pair following the 2 steps below:

1. Reset the PowerDot(s)

  • Turn the PowerDot(s) on
  • Once on, press and hold the power button until the white LED Light begins to blink and turns off

2. Begin the Re-pairing process

  • Open PowerDot app
  • Tap on “My Devices” tab
  • Tap on ""Add Device""
  • Turn on PowerDot
  • Tap on Continue
  • Tap on “Pair” from Bluetooth Pairing Request
  • Repeat steps III – VI for a Duo

What is the Period Pain Relief program and how does it work?

The new feature in the PowerDot app is the Period Pain Relief Program. This is a scientifically designed preset program that takes the guesswork out of using electrical stimulation to provide period pain relief. Electrical signals produced by a TENS device prevents the sensory nerves - the nerves that lie just below the skin - from sending pain signals to the brain and stimulates the release of endorphins - which are natural pain relief hormones made by the body.

To use the feature:
- Download the PowerDot app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Input your email address and create a password to log in.
- Open the PowerDot app, tap the Period Pain Relief Program.
- Use the slider to select the duration of your session, which can range from 30-90 minutes.
- Place the pads and pods at the site of pain on the body as instructed.
- Connect your pod(s) and leads.
- Tap “start workout” and increase the intensity to where you feel a tingling sensation that is tolerable but not painful. You may need to increase the intensity throughout the session as your body gets used to the electrical stimulation.

I have abdominal pain and lower back pain when I am on my period. Can I use the Period Pain Program on my front and back at the same time?

No, for your safety, you should not use PowerDot simultaneously on the abdomen and lower back at the same time. The electrical stimulation simultaneously used on the abdomen and lower back may unintentionally affect nerves that regulate internal functions.

How long should I use the product for? At what interval? If I use it for too long, can I hurt myself?

Research shows the minimum effective TENS treatment session for period pain relief is 20 minutes. However, PowerDot can be worn for longer periods, even beyond 8 hours. The Period Pain Relief Program in the PowerDot App allows you to determine a timeframe between 30 and 90 minutes, and the intensity level. Once you complete a session, it is safe to start another session, if you need additional pain relief.

There is no evidence that suggests using PowerDot for multiple hours is unsafe. However, we do not recommend sleeping with the device on, as you should always be aware of the stimulation.

Has e-stim been tested for use around period pain, using another product(s)? What were the results?

Can I use PowerDot if I have a copper IUD?

Yes, PowerDot can be used with both copper and hormonal IUDs. However, if you are concerned, you should consult with a medical professional.

Can PowerDot be used to help alleviate labor pains?

What is the difference between using the Uno, Duo, or Butterfly Back Pad?

The primary difference is the surface area covered. By offering one or two pods and multiple pad configurations, PowerDot provides more versatility and ability to properly target pain points than any other TENS device on the market. Many other solutions do not cover a large enough area to provide sufficient pain relief. Though individual results can vary when using the Period Pain Relief Program, our solution gives users the ability to cover a larger surface area and maximize pain relief.

What do I do if I don’t see the app update?

If you don’t see the update, you may need to log out and log back into the app. If you have not updated your phone in a while, you may need to update your phone and the PowerDot app as well.

Can the PowerDot app track my menstrual cycle or tell me when in my cycle I should use the device?

The PowerDot app itself does not track the menstrual cycle. However, if you track your cycle in Apple Health and allow its data to feed into PowerDot, you can get recommendations for recovery based on your activity metrics.

The PowerDot app will not tell you when to use the device for period pain, as everyone experiences pain at different times throughout their cycles.

However, if you are tracking your cycle, you can certainly make sure you are prepared by ensuring your PowerDot device is charged and having it on-hand when you anticipate the onset of your cycle.

How do I clean my RecoveryAir system?

Cleaning the Device

Disconnect the device from any electrical outlets before cleaning. Let it dry completely before reconnecting it to the electrical outlet. Wipe clean using a slightly damp cloth. Do not allow any moisture or liqids to enter the device.

Cleaning the Compression Boots

Gently wipe the external and internal surfaces of the boots using a soft cloth, warm water not exceeding 100F and a mild detergent. Do not submerge in liquid or allow liquid to enter the air inlets of the boot. Wipe dry using a soft towel only. When dry, the external and internal surfaces of the boot may be wiped down with 70% alcohol or with appropriate alcohol-based disinfectant.

Why isn't my RecoveryAir product a listed device in the Therabody App?

RecoveryAir products can be controlled via their own app, which can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play Store.

How do I charge my RecoveryAir unit?

RecoveryAir devices feature a rechargeable internal battery, which can be charged with the DC power adapter when the device is turned on. Turn ON the power switch to enabled charging the device. Turn OFF the power switch to conserve battery power when not charging or using the device. We recommended charging the device for no more than 8 hours.

Why isn't my RecoveryAir Compression Vest or Sleeve inflating?

After connecting your RecoveryAir Compression Vest or Sleeve to the RecoveryAir system with the instructions provided, you will notice that the secondary vent remains unconnected and exposed. Make sure you secure the secondary vent of your RecoveryAir system with one of the blocker plugs included. This will ensure your pneumatic device pumps air directly into the garment without leakage.
